PROJECT: Failure I, II & III Note: I. A dissection of a failing body, dripping with over-growth and misperception. The cut, folded, stitched construction is reminiscent of surgical procedures. II. A slice of skin, rumpled, and discarded. The unctuous, high gloss, central oculus invites viewers to reflect on their own vision and perception, as well as providing a tactile contrast with the predominantly matte painting. III. The face of a broken boil. Exploring the possibility of balancing a sensual bodily landscape with disturbing deformity in a reflection of apperception. Materials: Acrylic, spray paint, thread, polyurethane, ink, fabric, fiber, wood. Year: 2015 Scale: 40" x 35" x 4", 45" x 44" x 5", 41" x 38" x 6".
